8U/10U/12U/14U/16U/19U CORE Referee Volunteer Guidelines1. Each team will need 3 Certified Referee Volunteers for the season and names emailed to Vince Redmond, Regional Referee Administrator (RRA), by September 21, 2024.2. Each team in U8 will be responsible to monitor and officiate their own games if another referee does not sign up for the game. Each home team will be responsible for officiating the game.3. Each 10U/12U team will need to supply 1 Assistant Referee (AR) per game. 14U-19U will need to supply 2 AR's. These referees can be from your team or utilizing other referees in the region. Ask the RRA for support if any of your assignments are not signed up for. 4. After a minimum of one year of referee experience (see 'Regional Referee Training' tab), each referee will be eligible to become and Intermediate Referee and cross over their badge and experience to an USSF Level 8 badge (see 'How to Become an USSF/NOCRA Referee' tab). This means you will then be monetarily compensated for every game you officiate!!!
For EXTRA:
All the Extra Team games this year are assigned 1 USSF official by NOCRA (Referee) and will be responsible to provide 2 Assistant Referees (AR) per every home game. If you are interested in officiating these games, please see the 'How to Become an USSF/NOCRA Referee' tab to register today or how to sign up to be an AYSO Regional Referee!Referee Point System:
2024 Referee Point Proposal (with team assigned Field Marshals and Venue Assistance):
U10-U14 (U16/U19 typically have a limited amount of teams. Each team is required to have a minimum of 14 Referee points to be eligible for playoff consideration. Any U16/U19 Division with more than 2 teams, Referee points will count towards their final standings).
Tournament Style + Traditional Point System
1 point (up to 5 points): for every certified referee that is in Matchtrak
2 points: If all team games that are assigned are signed up for on Matchtrak before September 21st (3rd weekend). The coaches’ name must be chosen as the team they are representing to get points.
1 point (up to 10 or the total amount of scheduled games): Referee assignments completed on the field and are in Matchtrak (they can sign up on the field if they are not already in Matchtrak). This will be checked at the tent by a volunteer. The referee must be in full uniform to get credit (‘club linesman’ do not get credit).
A minimum of 14 Referee points by seasons end will be mandatory to be eligible for playoff implications
New Referees: In efforts to give more practice and experience for our new Regional Referees, each new 154 Regional Referee that goes through the 2024 AYSO Regional Referee training will be scheduled for 2 U8 games and 1 U10 game as the Referee (center). For U10, NOCRA referees (USSF) and the Region 154 Referee Mentors will still be present for mentoring and support! This is on top of their regular team requirements for weekly Assistant Referees (AR) or game coverage.
Each Referee will have their choice to sign up on Matchtrak to choose the games they want to do before the season starts. If they are not signed up by September 21st, they will be assigned by the RRA.
Intermediate Referee candidates will also be assigned 3 games as the Referee for U12 games after their completion of the Intermediate Referee Training course. If they have not signed up by September 21st, they will be assigned by the RRA. Any changes to these assignments must be done directly with the RRA in efforts to make sure all games are covered.
